Routledge deal done at last

Wayne Routledge’s protracted transfer to Tottenham has finally been completed this morning, with the midfielder moving to White Hart Lane for an undisclosed compensation fee.

Given Simon Jordan’s willingness to go to tribunal if Palace didn’t get what they wanted for the player, it’s probably safe to assume the figure involved is around the £2m mark. The 20-year-old will move to the North London club as of 1st July.

Routledge came up through the ranks at Palace and broke into the first team in 2001. He eventually made 123 appearances for the Eagles.
