Sheff Weds v Palace – Team news preview

Last updated : 31 October 2006 By Nik Taylor

How Palace need three points right now. Three home defeats and two away draws have been endured since the last time we took maximum points from a game, so nothing less than a win will do right now.

Wednesday are weak at home, and if the players are going to prove recent results have been a dip in form rather than an example of the best we can manage then they need to go to places like Hillsborough and perform.

Little has changed on the injury front. Peter Taylor had been hopeful on the chances of James Scowcroft playing, but he seems likely to be missing from the line-up tonight. Jobi McAnuff is still out, as is Michael Hughes.

Danny Butterfield could get his starting spot back though, after the defender put in one of the few noteworthy performances against Plymouth when he came on for the second half.

Who
Taylor goes for up front is anyone's guess. Kuqi's much-discussed lack of confidence seems to have afflicted the rest of the strikers, with both Morrison and Freedman starting on Saturday but looking ineffective.

The Owls have their captain Graham Coughlan back for the game tonight, but defenders Tommy Spurr and Wade Small are both out.

Probable Palace XI:

Kiraly

Butterfield Ward Cort Borrowdale

Soares Fletcher Kennedy Reich

Kuqi Morrison
