Shipps – I'm going nowhere

Palace’s goalscoring hero Neil Shipperley has hit back at newspaper claims he is on the verge of leaving the club.

Shipps’ second-half strike at the Millennium Stadium took Palace back into the Premiership, but ever since the striker has been linked with moves away from Selhurst Park.

But the Eagles captain, who still has two years left on his existing contract, has revealed he’s not planning on going anywhere.

"I've certainly not heard anything," Shipperley told the Croydon Advertiser. "I haven't got a clue where it's come from.

"If you are going to get released by a club or told you can go nowadays they have the decency to at least tell you. I've not heard anything and I'm not interested.

"Unless I get told anything it doesn't worry me at all."
