Former Palace defender Jamie Smith has been signed up by League One title challengers Bristol City.
The 29-year-old has put pen to a one-year contract, after impressing City manager Brian Tinnion during a trial period at the club.
Smith was released by Palace during the summer after missing much of the last two seasons through injury.
