Sorondo red-card appeal rejected

Gonzalo Sorondo will miss the Saturday morning match at home to Bolton Wanderers after Palace’s appeal against his red card was rejected by the FA.

Sorondo was given his marching orders during the away match at West Brom after bundling over Geoff Horsfield – a challenge that was interpreted by ref Dermot Gallagher (but hardly anyone else) as a professional foul.

Sorondo faces a one-match suspension following the dismissal.
