Speroni to stake claim

Palace boss Peter Taylor will give keeper Julian Speroni a chance to prove his worth in the the season's final three games.

The Argentine stopper has impressed whenever called upon this season, but after suffering injuries at key times has spent most of the season warming the bench.

But with current number one Gabor Kiraly out of contract in the summer and with an uncertain future, Taylor now wants to take another look.

Taylor told the Croydon Advertiser: "I do intend to take a look at Julian, because I think I owe that to him. He's a tremendous professional, and has been a little bit unlucky with injuries this season.

"He's played well whenever he's been called upon, and he's a good lad to have around the place. I always intended to take a look at him for at least a couple of games if I can."
