Taylor dismisses Warnock speculation

Palace boss Peter Taylor has been told his job is safe after holding clear-the-air talks with chairman Simon Jordan.

The Eagles manager has been under fire following his side's uncertain start to the season, with former Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock heavily linked with his position.

However, Warnock himself has insisted there is nothing in the speculation, dismissing it as simply 'that time of year'.

And Taylor has received assurances from his chairman that he is not about to be booted out of the manager's office.

"I was told about it four days before I read it," Taylor told the Croydon Guardian.

"It is disappointing, but that's football life. "There could be something in it, there could be nothing in it - but that is the beauty of newspapers.

"I have spoken to Simon. He told me there is nothing in it, so that's good enough for me.

"My relationship with Simon is excellent and if there was anything in it then I would be the first to know."
