Taylor still keen on Hughes

Peter Taylor still hopes to complete the signing of Lincoln's young left-back Jeff Hughes, despite signing Tony Craig to play in the same position.

Palace have been linked with Hughes for some time and both Taylor and chairman Simon Jordan have confirmed the club are keen on signing the player.

The arrival of Craig from Millwall looks unlikely to stop the deal - especially since Hughes, 22, can also play on the left of midfield.

With Gary Borrowdale about to leave Selhurst and Danny Granville already released, Taylor also needs back-up for the left-back spot.

"We are speaking to Lincoln about Jeff Hughes," Taylor confirmed to the South London Press.
