The Rumour Room – 14th June

Last updated : 14 June 2005 By Nik Taylor

Right, then. In the past seven days, Andrew Johnson has told the press he is not looking to leave, while Iain Dowie and Simon Jordan have both agreed there is no chance of Palace selling. So why do we still have to put up with half-baked AJ-transfer theories?
The latest rumour to add to the list is the Daily Mail’s report that AJ does actually want to up-sticks, and that Primera Liga side Sevilla are going to stick £8m on the table for his signature. Meanwhile, David Moyes reportedly believes that two weeks of Champions League football will be enough to persuade Johnson to move to Goodison Park – or so say the News of the World.
And stop yawning at the back. There’s another eleven weeks of this nonsense to put up with before transfer deadline day…

Non-AJ whispers include a rare story from the Daily Sport that includes neither busty beauties nor buses on the moon. According to the DS, Iain Dowie fancies signing Tunisian winger Karim Essediri. The 25-year-old currently plies his trade for Tromso in Norway.

The agent of Predrag Djordjevic reckons the Olympiakos skipper turned down offers from Palace, Southampton and Bolton to sign a new contract with the Greek side.
