Defender Sam Togwell has joined League One side Port Vale on loan until the January transfer window.
Vale boss Martin Foyle is delighted to have snapped up the 21-year-old.
"Sam Togwell spent three months out on loan at Northampton Town last season and did very well for them and that's where I first saw him play," Foyle told the club's official website.
"He can play at right-back, centre-half or midfield and his versatility is much-needed in our squad. He has just signed an improved deal with Crystal Palace and he's a player very much for the future."
