Torghelle completes loan move

Palace striker Sandor Torghelle has completed his loan move to Panathinaikos.

The 23-year-old Hungarian international struggled to break into the first team during last season and was told he would not feature strongly in Iain Dowie’s plans for the current campaign.

Torghelle has joined the Greek side on a season-long loan deal, with an option for them to take him on permanently at the end of that spell.

"I was told I may not feature much this season," Torghelle told the South London Press.

"This was very sad news for me as I thought my style of play would be more suited to the Championship, but Panathinaikos is a good opportunity for me and it means I will be playing Champions League football.

"I have really enjoyed living in England and although some things were very tough for me initially, I have nothing but fond memories here. But I am only going on loan, maybe I'll be back next year."
