David Connolly Palace scouts were at Tuesday night's reserve match between Sunderland and Newcastle, running the rule over 30-year-old Black Cats striker David Connolly, according to local paper The Shields Gazette. Also being watched was former Reading defender Greg Halford.

Neil Danns Palace are being linked with a £500,000 deal for Birmingham midfielder Neil Danns. The 25-year-old appears surplus to requirements at St Andrews, having made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.

Ahmed Abou Mosalem The Eagles are interested in signing Ahmed Abou Mosalem, according to the player himself. The 26-year-old Egyptian left-back reckons Palace have made enquiries with his current club, Strasbourg. Mosalem says: "I'd be keen on going to England so I can get some first-team football."

Jeff Hughes Palace's summer signing Jeff Hughes has no way back into the side under Neil Warnock. The Eagles boss has already sent Hughes out on loan and now expects to sell him to League One side Bristol Rovers.
