Turner ‘gutted' to be leaving

Everton keeper Iain Turner is ‘gutted' after injury forced him to cut short his loan stay at Palace.

Turner started five games for the Eagles and put in a succession of solid performances between the sticks.

However, he was forced out of Saturday's defeat against
Colchester early on after picking up a groin strain, and has since returned to Goodison Park a week early.

Turner told evertonTV: "I'm gutted.
Crystal Palace
were looking to extend the loan so I might have had a few more games down there.

"It was a bit unfortunate. I was getting a good run of games going and then on Saturday against
Colchester
I was taking a free kick and my groin went.

"I tried to play on for about five minutes but it wasn't feeling good. I don't like doing it but I had to put my hand up and come off."

"I had been waiting for a long time to get a run of games.

"We had won two and drawn two, I had only conceded one goal - which I should have saved - so it was going well."
