Palace have been linked with a move for out-of-contract goalkeeper Ian Walker.
The former England stopper is without a club after his contract at Leicester City expired this summer.
Eagles boss Iain Dowie is thought to be keen on signing the 33-year-old keeper to compete with Gabor Kiraly for the number one jersey, having apparently lost faith with Argentinian Julian Speroni.
However, Dowie will face competition from Premiership side Bolton, who are reported to also be keen on securing Walker’s signature.
