Warnock: Bring on Newcastle

Neil Warnock would welcome Newcastle in the opening game of the season as he warns the North East side it's not going to be easy.

"They won't find it easy by any stretch of the imagination," Warnock told the South London Press.

"Newcastle coming down only shocks me in the sense that no way should a club like that get relegated with the fanbase they have got - they have just made so many errors of judgement at every turn.

"It's not funny from inside the club but from the outside it is almost comical. I don't think we fear anybody or that reputations will worry us because we're not that type of team. I don't believe Newcastle will relish playing us.

"Ideally we want them at Selhurst on the first day of the season - I'm sure that would be the televised match."

Also in the Championship are Leicester, Peterborough and SCunthorpe who were all promoted from League 1.
