Warnock explained how the players' agent offered him to Palace but the boss didn't take upthe offer. The player Warnock did want was Gary McSheffrey but his wages were too expnsive.
"His (Martin's) agent rang me and I said no, and then it's in the paper the next day," Warnock told the South London Press.
"I'm not interested."
Warnock did reveal that he tried to sign Gary McSheffrey on loan last week, only for the attacker to join Nottingham Forest from Birmingham.
He added: "We went after McSheffrey, but we couldn't afford his wages."
