Warnock settles for a point

Neil Warnock was happy to take a point from his first game in charge - despite seeing his side throw away a one goal lead and finish the game with ten men.

Tom Soares put the Eagles ahead early in the second half, but Blackpool were level within ten minutes. And as the final whistle approached, Soares was shown a red card for apparently stamping on Andy Welsh.

Warnock refused to blame his player for the incident and instead focused on a decent performance.

"It was very unlucky, Tom couldn't get out of their player's way, but we won't be appealing," he said. "In fact, even with 10 men I thought we could have gone on and won it."

And the Eagles boss revealed he was excited to be back in football after a few months out of the game.

"I really enjoyed it and once we had taken the lead I thought we'd go on and win it," he added.

"My stomach was churning before the game, it's a nice challenge at a new club and the players didn't let me down."
