Warnock: We showed passion and commitment

Neil Warnock was full of praise for his Palace side after they earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw at home to second-placed West Brom.

The Eagles fell behind early on when Mark Hudson headed into his own net, but Clinton Morrison hit an equaliser shortly after to tie up the match.

"It was a great result for us," said Warnock. "Three weeks ago we would have lost that fixture but we're quite disappointed not to win it. I know they've had a couple of chances but they know they've been in a game today.

"They are the best side in the league so we've come on quite a long way and the players have started to believe in themselves.

"Today was what I expected when I came to Palace. It was a horrible place to come, the pitch was bobbly, the weather was bad and all that was fantastic. That's the first time I've enjoyed a game since I've come here, I thought it was great.

"Three weeks ago we would have stood off from them a little too much, given them the ball and let them do what they wanted to do, like they did at Plymouth in midweek.

"But I don't like my team's to do that. Yes, we are limited and we're not going to score many goals because of the players we have at our disposal.

"But within that group of players we have areas we can improve. It's entertaining and you can't take your eyes off us at the moment, which is what you pay your money for.

"Even when we beat Preston at home the other night there wasn't that intensity we showed tonight. Passion and commitment is what you need to be successful at any level and we had that in abundance today."
