Watson aims for swift comeback

Ben Watson hopes to miss just one more match before making his return to the first team.

The young midfielder has been out of the side since damaging ankle ligaments during the Carling Cup defeat at Bristol Rovers earlier this month.

The injury has kept him out of the games against Leicester and Ipswich - and the 22-year-old will also miss Saturday's game against Charlton.

But he is optimistic that the two week international break after the Addicks match will give him time to return to fitness.

"I thought I'd only be out for a couple of weeks, but I went for a scan and found out I'd torn the ligaments," he told the club's official website.

"They said I'd be out for four to six weeks, but I'm hoping that it will be more like four weeks than six.

"It's still swollen now and hopefully I'll miss the next game and then there's the break and hopefully I'll be back after that."
