Wigan's £8.5m AJ bid accepted

Palace chairman Simon Jordan has accepted a bid of £8.5m from Wigan for star striker Andrew Johnson.

But that price could rise still higher as Jordan warned Bolton and Everton to raise their bids or risk losing out on the hotshot.

"Wigan are in the box seat," said Jordan. "Everton and Bolton are very keen to have the player's services, but they need to get a move on.

"Wigan have offered money I consider reasonable and on the terms I want."

"It is predominantly those three clubs who are interested in Andrew, although I believe there is also interest from Portsmouth."

AJ would apparently prefer a move to Everton, but their highest bid so far has been £7.25m. Bolton have had a bid of £8m also turned down.
