The Eagles reserves continued their impressive start to the season with a solid 2-0 win away at Chelsea.

An action-packed first half saw both sides pushing hard for the opener, but despite several close calls at either end the teams went in after 45 with the scores 0-0.

But with just a couple of minutes of the second-half gone, Torghelle repeated his Fratton Park trick and won Palace a penalty. Striking duties fell to Ivan Kaviedes, who stuck the ball away with ease.

Palace began to dominate the game following the goal, but had to wait until almost the end of the game to seal it.

With the game moving into stoppage time, Kaviedes bagged his brace with a fine finish. His performance could be enough to force him into the line-up for next week’s home game against Fulham.

Palace: Cronin, Togwell, Borrowdale, Derry, Leigertwood (Simpson), Sorondo, Soares, Pritchard, Hall, Torghelle, Kaviedes.
