Palace reserves were narrowly beaten on Wednesday night by Coventry City’s second string at Nuneaton.
The Eagles found themselves behind with just three minutes on the clock, but fought back to equalise through Dougie Freedman’s fourth reserve goal of the season.
However, the points went to City after they slotted home a penalty late on in the second-half.
New signing Anthony Danze made his red-and-blue debut, while there were injury comebacks for Danny Butterfield, Neil Shipperley and Mikele Leigertwood.
