Palace reserves eased to a comfortable win over Leicester last night, thanks to goals from Ryan Hall and Tyrone Berry.

The Foxes gave a debut to £750,000 Tranmere signing Iain Hume, but Palace put out a strong side that included Mark Hudson, Wayne Andrews and Tommy Black.

Black was in the thick of things from the outset, squandering a one-on-one chance against the keeper early on. The striker then thought he had put the Eagles in front, only to see the linesman’s flag raised after he’d slotted home in the 24th minute.

It took until injury time of the first half for Palace to break the deadlock, with Hall finishing well with a low strike.

Leicester pressed for an equaliser during the second-half, but Berry put the seal on the win with a solo effort on 88 minutes.
