Palace’s reserves booked their place in the final of the Pontins Cup on Monday by beating Northampton 2-1.
A strong Palace side included a number of players with first-team experience, and also had the notable inclusion of Darren Powell and Curtis Fleming, as the pair work their way back from injury.

Palace had a nightmare start to the match, conceding a goal as early as the 8th minute. However, the team responded well to this early setback, creating several chances throughout the first half.

The score remained at 1-0 to Northampton until the hour mark, when Ben Watson smashed home to equalise. With ten minutes to go, trialist Lloyd Blackman notched the winner from a Tommy Black cross.
