Gavin Heeroo scored a last-gasp winner for the Palace reserves against an experienced Norwich side last night. The midfielder rifled home with just two minutes of the 90 left, to ensure the Eagles took all three points from this reserve league match.

The Palace side was notable for the inclusion of Jamie Smith, who is returning after a three match suspension, and the appearance of Sergio Leite, a trialist goalkeeper. Leite is a former captain of the Portugal U21 side, and counts Boavista and Charlton among his previous clubs.

Fellow triallist Jermaine Brown put in another solid performance for the second XI, and his future at the club is likely to be sorted out in the next week or so. Former Palace striker Matthias Svensson had a run-out for the Canaries as he began his comeback from injury.

Palace XI:
Leite, Smith, Simpson, Togwell, Gibson, Dolan, Surey, Heeroo, Soares, Williams, Brown.
Subs: Conroy, Bashkal, El-Salahi, Hay, Cronin.
