Sandor Torghelle returned to the Palace reserves last night following his suspension and bagged the winning goal for Palace just before half-time.
Palace had the better of the game throughout, but with Ipswich rarely threatening the Eagles played well within themselves.
Notable changes to the team saw Lance Cronin coming into the side in place of Julian Speroni, and Shaun Derry getting a start following his abortive move to Leeds.
The victory puts another three points on the board for Palace and means the reserves are now fourth in the table – only four points behind leaders Spurs.
