Palace fielded a reasonably strong side against Watford’s second string, but could still only pick up a single point.
Watford struck first, with a counter-attacking move just before half-time that saw Andy Ferrell put home the opener.
Palace were by far the dominant side, however, and an equaliser came ten minutes into the second half, courtesy of a rare Darren Powell strike. But Palace couldn’t push on for a winner and had to settle for a home point.
