Norwich City 2 - 1 Crystal Palace

Palace's propensity to concede last minute goals reared it's ugly head at Carrow Road this afternoon. Norwich's Malky MacKay was the benefactor this time, to give the home side all three points. Things had started so brightly for Palace, with Shaun Derry netting a 20 yarder past the stranded Robert Green with only 74 seconds on the watch. This was to be as good as it got for Palace. On the stroke of half time Curtis Fleming was adjudged to have brought down Darren Huckerby, and the loanee dusted himself down to cooly dispatch the spot kick and send the teams in level at the break.
The second period was backs to the wall stuff for Palace, as the home side pushed forward in search of a winner. It appeared that their dominance would go unrewarded as a combination of dodgy finishing, plucky defending and some outstanding goalkeeping from Cedric Berthelin denied the hosts. Then with time ticking away MacKay headed home to hand victory to City, which on the balance of play, it must be said, they fully deserved.
Palace's poor disciplinary record became even poorer with cautions for five players. Curtis Fleming, Andy Johnson, Gary Borrowdale, Shaun Derry and Hayden Mullins were all shown the yellow card.
