Crouch out for relegation rivals

Southampton striker Peter Crouch will miss his side’s final match of the season after losing an appeal against the red card he received last Saturday.

The striker was sent off in the second half of Palace’s home draw with Southampton last Saturday, following a clash with Gonzalo Sorondo that also led to the Eagles defender seeing red.

Southampton face Manchester United at home in next Sunday’s final round of Premiership matches. Palace travel to Charlton and must better Southampton’s result to stand any chance of staying up.
