The 26-year-old former Cardiff striker joined Palace last month for an undisclosed fee, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal with the London club.  Campbell was brought in to help a Palace side that only managed to score 33 goals last term, the third lowest in the league.

Campbell played the full 90 minutes at Forest green helping Palace to a 3-0 victory with three clinical finishes from close range. The Eagles other new signing Brede Hangeland also made his debut alongside Campbell and looked impressive helping the Eagles keep a clean sheet.  Both new signings were part of an unfamiliar Eagles side made up of mostly fringe players including Paddy McCarthy, Jerome Thomas, Stephen Dobbie and Barry Bannan.

Meanwhile a more familiar Palace side took on Brentford at Griffin Park.  The core of the first eleven that finished last season started with the addition of Wayne Henessey in place of Julian Speroni between the posts.  Palace ran out eventuall 3-2 losers despite goals from Murray and Chamakh helping Palace to momentarily draw level after falling behind early into the first half.

In an interview with Sky Sports News, Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis described his delight at the aquisition of Campbell, "We need goals and people who can put the ball in the back of the net. It's an area we need to improve so we're pleased to sign Fraizer."
