Former Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is lining up a return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace reported to be a possible destination for the Algerian.
Bentaleb has been shunned by current club Schalke for over a year following disciplinary problems and his ill-fated spell with the Bundesliga outfit is seemingly coming to an end.
The midfielder has not featured for Schalke since the incident and whilst the first-team have travelled to Spain for a warm-weather camp, Bentaleb has been relegated to the reserves.
Although the Germans want their troubled star permanently off the books, they are also open to a loan move and Palace are reportedly showing interest.
With the Bundesliga club wanting to wash their hands of Bentaleb, Palace boss Roy Hodgson may see the 25-year-old as a player who could bolster his options in the centre of the park.
It has been two and a half years since Bentaleb left the Premier League to complete his €22.5m transfer from Tottenham to Schalke in the summer of 2017.
Ill-discipline has clouded his last 12 months in Germany but Hodgson may look back to Bentaleb's spell with Tottenham and the performances that earnt him the move.
During his time in North London Bentaleb made 46 appearances for Spurs and showed promise having joined the academy at 17-years-old.
Still only 25, the Algerian international who has been capped 35 times by his country, has age on his side and would bring something different to the Eagles midfield.
However, Palace are not the only club prepared to take a chance on the Algerian, with Italian giants AC Milan also supposedly in the frame, along with several unnamed English sides.
Although one thing is for certain, Bentaleb has burnt his bridges with Schalke and now its just a question of where he will end up next.
