Iain Dowie has made his first signing of the summer after Palace confirmed the arrival of midfielder Jobi McAnuff from Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old winger agreed terms on a four-year contract on Tuesday morning. Although Palace are being coy about how much the Jamaican international has cost, it is thought the Eagles have stumped up around £450,000 for his services.

His arrival at Selhurst Park paves the way for Wayne Routledge to finally complete his will-he, won’t-he move across London to Spurs.

McAnuff told the Western Mail: "I know quite a few of the players at Palace and it's nice to go into an environment where there are a few friendly faces.

"Palace were unlucky to get relegated from the Premier League and their aim is to go straight back up.

"I'm looking forward to working with Iain Dowie. I've heard a lot of good things about him."

The transfer of Darren Ward from Millwall for a fee of around £1.1 million should also be completed before the end of this week.
