More signings to come, says Dowie

Last week’s triple transfer swoop isn’t the end of Palace’s pre-season purchases, according to director of football Bob Dowie.

Dowie has revealed the Eagles still have their eyes on a number of other possible buys and – surprisingly – another striker is top of the wish-list.

With last week’s capture of Jon Macken from Manchester City, the Eagles now have six senior players competing to play up front – seven if Nicola Ventola opts to sign a new deal. However, Dowie says another marksman is still Palace’s primary transfer priority.

"We got our three main targets in Macken, Jobi McAnuff and Darren Ward. But we are still looking for another forward," Dowie told the South London Press.

"That's the priority for us, although we are also looking in general positions too to strengthen the squad."

"The chairman has been very supportive this summer which can be seen by our signings so far. We have recruited players we know can, or have the potential to, play in the Premiership so we wouldn't have to make drastic changes to the squad if we went up again.
