Palace have completed the signing of Clint Hill from Stoke City, following the defender's successful loan spell at Selhurst Park.

The 29-year-old left back has signed a two-year contract with the Eagles and joins for an undisclosed fee.

His arrival at the club in November coincided with the start of the Eagles' remarkable upturn in fortunes, which has seen the side go on a 14-match unbeaten run in the league.

Since coming to Palace, Hill has made the left back position his own and has scored three goals.

"I'm delighted to finally welcome Clint Hill on board permanently," boss Neil Warnock told the official site.

"He may not be the type of player who catches the eye of many opposition teams but he is a manager's type of player.

"He is always one of the first on the team sheet and his overall contribution during his loan spell has been a big factor in our climb up the table."
