Palace v West Ham – Team news preview

Last updated : 12 April 2004 By Nik Taylor

Monday’s match-up against West Ham is the start of a three game run that will define Palace’s season. The next ten days see the Eagles take on three of the teams currently in the play-off positions – with all the games being played at home. A good haul of points from the trio of matches will see Dowie’s side challenging strongly for a top-six spot.

Palace’s manager has a near fully-fit side to choose from once again. Neil Shipperley faces a late fitness test, but is expected to come through. Dougie Freedman is waiting in the wings should Shipps need a rest. The Eagles only other injury concern is the long-term absence of Darren Powell.

The Hammers will play Pavel Srnicek in goal as he continues to deputise for regular number one Stephen Bywater, who is suspended. Don Hutchison and Rob Lee are also doubts.
