Taylor under pressure after 5th league game without a win

Palace are 21st in the table with just one point keeping the club out of the relegation zone.

Peter Taylor is not confident about his position. Especially when the Chirman has been in contact with out of work Neil Warnock. Coincidentally it's Warnock's old side, Sheffield Utd, that come to Selhurst Park on Saturday. Another failure at home would surely add even more pressure onto Taylor.

"I am not confident but I just don't know because I have not spoken to Simon (Jordan). I doubt we will speak before the weekend but he has had a few things on his plate.

"If I'm honest it's not nice when you read that he has been having regular contact with Neil Warnock. But I don't think the fact that we failed to beat an Iain Dowie team makes any difference.

"I hope I am given time because I enjoy the job. I have lots of great memories of Crystal Palace and I would like to be successful here.

"The position we are in is not good enough and I accept that. But I don't think we are that far away from being a good side.

"I was disappointed with the boos because of our performance. I thought they would see that the players had put a good shift in."
